Notes: appointed Keeper of Syon House in 1560 and Usher of the Mint in the Tower on 5 Feb 1578. He was Member of Parliament for Reading from 1572 to 1589 and for Breconshire from 1589 to 1604, subsequently sitting for Abingdon in 1644, and again in 1624 and 1625, and for Berkshire in 1626. He was created a Knight of the Bath 24 Jul 1603.

Notes: lived at Stanford-in-the-Vale in Berkshire and was Member of Parliament for Northampton in 1588 and for Wallingford in 1584. Married Joan Heigham, of Cliffords in Sussex, sister of John Heigham of Stanford. Her second husband was Francis Winchcombe of Bucklebury, also in Berkshire. She was buried at Rotherfield Greys on 10 Oct 1631. Sir Robert Knollys, her son by her first husband, was knighted on 10 Jan 1613 and acquired the Rotherfield Greys estate from his uncle, William, Earl of Banbury, on 4 Mar 1631. The lands were only finally alienated from the family in 1686.

Notes: sixth son. He leased the manor of Battle on the western side of Reading from, the Crown. He was well known at court as "young Sir Francis" and was Member of Parliament for Oxford from 1572 to 1588, and for Berkshire in 1597 and 1625. A son, Sir Francis, seems to have been Member of Parliament for Reading in 1625, 1626, 1628 and 1640, whilst his daughter, Leticia, became the second wife of the famous Parliamentarian, John Hampden. Young Sir Francis died in 1643.

Notes: eldest son, lived at Kingsbury, Warwickshire, was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford, and, after accompanying his father to Germany, is said to have matriculated at the college (although his name does not appear in the university register) and to have obtained there the reputation of being a very cultivated and religious man. He was elected Member of Parliament for Shoreham in 1563 and for Oxfordshire in 1572. He accompanied his brother-in-law, Walter Devereux, Earl of Essex, to Ireland in 1574 and was made an Esquire of the Body to Queen Elizabeth. He married, before 11 Apr 1568, Margaret (1549-1600), the daughter of Sir Ambrose Cave, by whom he had two daughters, Elizabeth (died before 1632), wife of Sir Henry Willoughby of Risley (d.1649) in Derbyshire, and Leticia, wife of William, 4th Lord Paget (d. 20 Aug 1629), from whom descend the Marquises of Anglesey. Henry died in 1583.
